How does this work?

Getting work done on your home can be a daunting, stressful, process.  But it doesn’t have to be! It is our goal to give you not only the best possible improvements to your home but the best value and the best experience. To that end, we have prepared for you a basic guide in an attempt to explain to you the steps involved in bringing your project from conception to fruition.

1: The idea.

Since you’re already here, you probably have this one covered.  Most homeowners aren’t completely sure of what they want or need, and it’s ok to not be 100% certain of the details, or even the basics.  Obviously I have no idea what you do for a living, but it’s probably not roofing, or concrete, or fencing or carpentry.  Therefore no one expects you to have perfect knowledge of every aspect of your project, or in many cases any concrete knowledge at all.  Part of the reason you may be interested in hiring a professional is because you, hopefully, are looking for a guide as well as a contractor, and part of MY job as a contractor and consultant is to help you understand your options, their costs and the consequences of your choices.  So leave this idea an idea and move on to:

2: Contact!

Give us a call or text.  (440)202-9776. Or browse through some of the front page choices and send us an email.  We will get back with you, ask a few quick questions, and set up a meeting, or check out your site and report back.  Or give you a rough estimate from the aerial view.  We love our customers and prefer to meet in person, but we’re easy and we will work around your schedule and preferences.

3: The meet!

At this point you can elaborate at length about your idea.  Sometimes, it’s straightforward:  you need a roof because Ohio threw a storm at you.  You have a couple estimates and you want another one.  Others, its tougher.  You have a problem that needs to be solved.  Water in the basement: is it grading? Drainage? Gutters?  Or maybe you want some options as to how to best enjoy your backyard.  A concrete patio, a deck?  Cedar or treated or Brazilian Tigerwood?  A modern, maintenance free vinyl deck design?  There are just too many possibilities to list.  At any rate, this is where we give you a general idea of what your project will cost, how long it will take, and the sorts of options you have.

4: Decisions, Decisions.

After our meeting, you’ve probably got a lot to think about.  You will decide which options are worth considering, and we will provide you with accurate prices for those options and an accurate timeframe for their competion, should you decide to proceed.  This usually only takes a few hours but might be a few days or more depending on the nature of your project.  Once you have the information…

5: Let’s Go!

After you choose the best option for your needs, we get it all on paper.  Before you sign up, we give you our assessments:  99%+ of the time, the amount you pay, total, is the same or less than what’s on the estimate.  If we feel that there might be additional pitfalls or costs associated with your project, we discuss them with you beforehand, and the potential amount.  Why do I bring this up at this point?  Because one of the reasons you will LOVE doing business with Arbor Ohio is that we don’t like unforseen problems, and we REALLY don’t like burdening you with issues that we, as professionals should have forseen.  Many contractors don’t do their due diligence or simply don’t have the experience to avoid pitfalls.  Once you pass this stage, we pride ourselves on charging you the price we agreed on, and no more.  In fact, in many cases the price is reduced if things go smoothly.  Why? Because we want to earn your trust and your confidence, and we take pride in the results of our labor and our knowledge of the trades.  So sign with confidence.  We tell you what we will do, when we will do it, and what it costs, and it happens.  Then:

6: The Job.

We show up.  We work with you to give you what you want.  We stay until you’re happy.  Simple as that.

7: If you’re happy, spread the word.  We love our customers, and we want you to love us.  We want your experience to be good enough that rather than telling your friends and family about us as a favor to us, you tell your friends and family about us as a favor to them.
